Writing is a form of extended communication giving us the opportunity to express ideas, stories, description, poetry, reportage and comedy on paper.
It is a small friendly group, but would like it to be larger. We encourage each other to write down stories, some of which may be autobiographical and others entirely fantastical.
Suggestions from the group are encouraged and we bring objects on an agreed subject to stimulate our imagination.
Our regenerated group has already learnt some new words increasing our vocabulary, for example:
Wordsmith
The Haiku is Japanese poetry consisting of three lines of five syllables. We shall try this next year.
Abscission meaning the process of leaves dropping
All of these from our first meeting with new members.
We shall try to embrace the U3A motto learn, laugh and live within the group.
We meet at Burraton Methodist Church hall on the second Friday of the month at 10.30 am. For more information, please email me using the Contact Us button at the bottom of this page.
